The IDDRC@WUSTL Gene Database was originally developed by Dr. Tychele Turner as a strategy for facilitating collaborations across individuals in the IDDRC@WUSTL Model Systems Core and in the IDDRC@WUSTL Clinical – Translational Core. The database aggregates gene-related information from six different databases at Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL). It serves as a connector of these databases with two major objectives including: 1) helping people get where they want to go (e.g., researcher identify patients, clinician identify functional experts) and 2) to establish new connections on campus. The database is currently maintained by Angela Keith as part of the IDDRC@WUSTL Clinical – Translational Core. Currently, the IDDRC@WUSTL database is only available to members of the WUSTL community.

GETTING STARTED

CLINICAL

Clinicians can enter interest in a gene to be queried in the IDDRC@WUSTL Gene Database. If their gene of interest matches with someone else in the database they will be put in contact with that individual for potential collaboration. If their gene of interest does not match with someone else the gene will be entered for potential contact in the future.

RESEARCH

Researchers can enter interest in a gene to be queried in the IDDRC@WUSTL Gene Database. If their gene of interest matches with someone else in the database they will be put in contact with that individual for potential collaboration. If their gene of interest does not match with someone else the gene will be entered for potential contact in the future.

CONNECTIONS

The IDDRC@WUSTL Gene Database is meant to be a tool for making connections across the WUSTL community. Connections already made include clinicians with clinicians, clinicians with researchers, and researchers with researchers.

SURVEY

Currently, the IDDRC@WUSTL database is only available to members of the WUSTL community. To express interest in IDDRC@WUSTL database, complete the following survey. Once eligibility has been established, access to the database will be granted. For questions or concerns, please reach out to keitha@wustl.edu.
